What Patch keeps, and for how long.
Patch makes phone calls for you. To do that it needs some of your details and it hears the calls it makes. Here is exactly what we hold, why, and how to remove it.
What we hold
Your mobile number (it is how you sign in, and the number businesses see when Patch calls). Your name, and any details you choose to save for calls, such as your postcode or a booking reference. The calls you ask for: who was called, the instructions, the transcript and the outcome. Your top-ups and what each call cost.
What we never hold
Card numbers, PINs, passwords or one-time codes. Patch is built to refuse them on a call, and if one is said aloud it is removed from the transcript. When a business needs to check it is you, you join the call yourself and Patch stops listening until you hand back.
Recording and transcripts
Calls are not recorded by default. Transcripts are kept for 30 days so you can check what was said, then deleted automatically. You can delete any call, or everything, at any time from the app.
Who else sees it
To make a call we use OpenAI (the voice and language models, with data storage turned off), Twilio (the phone line), Google (finding a business's number and opening hours), and Stripe (payments). Each only receives what it needs for that step.
If Patch called you
If you run a business that Patch called and you would rather it didn't, say so on the call or use the opt-out on our rules page. Your number then goes on a list that no Patch user can call.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted, in the app or by email. We reply within a month.
